Due to several conversations with women around me I realised some find it hard opening up about sex-related events, such as masturbation, or even sexual intercourse. They felt shy, wouldn't feel comfortable speaking about it, even blushed and got really nervous when it was mentioned. I found this, to a certain level, concerning. After a lot of research and attempts at how I could create a project that could potentially normalise the perception of female sexuality, which is a lot harder than some may believe, I realised what was needed was an honest and untampered representation. Not about being sexy or about underwear or nudity or trying to represent masturbation or orgasms, because that keeps being explored for male pleasure. The idea of this project is to raise awarness and make female sexuality something familiar and non-threatening for everyone in society.
